This past weekend, I wrote a little over half of the screenplay. I also began gathering costumes and contacting student actresses for my rotoscope footage.

Animation Short Film Ideas

I planned out a few concepts and ideas which I think might be fun to work with for this semester - I tried to pick ideas that would have a nice balance of elements I am comfortable with, but also elements that would encourage me to try new things or improve some areas where I've had challenges before. Log line #1: In a bleak portrait of the future, a desperate bounty killer agrees to hunt down her own sister to make a few dollars. For this first idea, I am thinking of rotoscoping actors then drawing in the background.  The vision I have in mind for this is a tense cat and mouse chase type scene.  It would have a lot of genre blending, mostly noir and western, and I would enjoy this since these are two of my favorite genres to work with.  In terms of stylistic skills to highlight, the current vision of the short I have relies a lot on the sound design.  I also think this short would rely a lot on shadowy lighting, which is something I would love to try and improve...
